SLIM KHEZRI UNLEASHES SUCCUBUS: A CINEMATIC JOURNEY THROUGH HORROR, OBSESSION AND THE SUPERNATURAL

A seven-track experimental musical production inspired by classic horror cinema, operatic tragedy, avant-garde composition, and the darker traditions of electronic music.

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA | OCTOBER 28, 2026

Doubajen Group Ltd. announces the worldwide release of SUCCUBUS, the new seven-track EP from German-American multidisciplinary artist, composer, and producer Slim Khezri.

An unsettling convergence of cinematic horror, industrial electronics, dark pop, experimental composition, and theatrical storytelling, SUCCUBUS is an ambitious musical exploration of the mysterious, the seductive, and the macabre.

Developed over more than a year, the project brings together an international ensemble of singers, musicians, producers, and technical collaborators, transforming an early Halloween-inspired concept into an atmospheric musical production.

THE ORIGINS: A LOVE LETTER TO THE DARKNESS

The origins of SUCCUBUS can be traced to Khezri's lifelong fascination with Halloween and the classic horror films of his childhood.

The eerie beauty of early Gothic cinema, the supernatural imagination of vintage horror, and the dramatic traditions of opera helped shape a creative vision in which music would function not merely as entertainment, but as an immersive theatrical experience.

Originally conceived in 2025 as a Halloween-themed album, the project encountered significant practical obstacles. Limited resources, scheduling conflicts, and the unavailability of several musicians and collaborating artists made it impossible to realize the original production within its intended timeframe.

Rather than compromise the artistic concept, Khezri postponed the project.

One composition nevertheless emerged from those early sessions.

In the House of Her Shadow, released in 2025, featured Khezri's original poetry and spoken-word vocals, establishing an early foundation for the world that would eventually become SUCCUBUS.

For the 2026 production, the composition was revisited and reimagined, featuring a new vocal performance by Christopher Price and an expanded musical arrangement.

Another key composition, Lust for You (Dark Phase), takes an earlier song into darker sonic territory. Featuring vocals by Swedish singer-songwriter Vivienne Dee, with production contributions from Stefani G., the new interpretation embraces a haunting, seductive atmosphere that complements the EP's broader musical narrative.

Together, these two compositions became important vocal centerpieces within the completed production.

THE INFLUENCES: BETWEEN THE CONCERT HALL AND THE HOUSE OF HORRORS

The musical language of SUCCUBUS draws from an unusually broad spectrum of artistic influences.

The avant-garde orchestral writing of Krzysztof Penderecki and György Ligeti, whose dissonant textures have become inseparable from some of cinema's most disturbing psychological landscapes, informs the project's fascination with tension, instability, and unconventional sound.

The industrial intensity of Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson intersects with the hypnotic, atmospheric electronic productions of Massive Attack.

The theatrical Gothic sensibilities of Duran Duran's Danse Macabre provide another point of inspiration.

Equally significant is the legacy of Michael Jackson's Thriller, Ghosts, and Is It Scary, productions that demonstrated how popular music could merge supernatural imagery, cinematic storytelling, choreography, and elaborate theatrical presentation.

These influences are complemented by Khezri's extensive professional involvement in theatre and opera, including nearly two decades of work with LA Opera.

The tragedies, passions, psychological conflicts, and supernatural imagery of the operatic repertoire form a natural artistic parallel to the themes explored throughout SUCCUBUS.

Rather than imitate any single influence, the production draws from their shared capacity to create atmosphere, suspense, and emotional intensity.

THE MUSIC: SEVEN CHAPTERS OF DARKNESS

Across seven compositions, SUCCUBUS moves between spoken narrative, vocal performance, atmospheric instrumentation, electronic rhythms, experimental textures, and orchestral influences.

The opening Prologue establishes the theatrical setting, drawing the listener into a world of suggestion and unease.

In the House of Her Shadow introduces Christopher Price's dramatic vocal performance, followed by the instrumental Night of the Living Dead.

Lust for You (Dark Phase) brings Vivienne Dee's haunting interpretation into focus, while Death on Two Legs continues the instrumental exploration.

The penultimate composition, Shadow Waltz, again features Vivienne Dee, before the title track, Succubus, closes the experience with an eccentric instrumental landscape incorporating antique musical textures and an unsettling cinematic atmosphere.

Neither a conventional dance record nor a traditional orchestral soundtrack, SUCCUBUS occupies the space between electronic music, experimental composition, and theatrical sound design.

It is intended to be experienced as a complete musical journey.

AN ARTISTIC STATEMENT

At its heart, SUCCUBUS is a celebration of the imagination.

It embraces the beauty found in darkness, the theatrical power of fear, and the enduring fascination of the unknown.

It reflects the belief that music need not remain confined to a single genre or convention, and that atmospheric sound, poetic imagery, and dramatic storytelling can coexist within a unified artistic vision.

A project initially postponed by circumstance has emerged as a completed, seven-part musical experience.

Its arrival during the Halloween season is not incidental. It is a return to the very fascination that inspired its creation.

SUCCUBUS is available now through Doubajen Group Ltd.
